Nestled in a rural hilltop community 8 km outside of Cape Coast, Unity offers a pristine natural environment and a taste of eco-friendly living.
Our guest house and restaurant welcomes Ghanaians and travelers from around the world for a peaceful vacation or weekend adventure. People around the dinner table are likely to include:
- Volunteers from NGOs
- Business travelers on the road from Accra to Takaradi
The design of our restaurant and menu are guided by the principles of sustainability and permaculture. Nearly 90% of the food served at Unity Ecovillage is grown in our community and the surrounding villages. The organic foods served at Unity are safely sourced and prepared.
The dining experience is also a culinary adventure. You will discover an array of authentic Ghanaian dishes, as well as original recipes inspired by cooking traditions from around the world.
In addition to providing accommodations and food, Unity offers visitors workshops in traditional arts, sustainable farming, and natural building methods, as well as opportunities to engage in service projects and guided tours to various points of interest in the region.
The unique design of Unity’s 10-acre campus draws from ancient indigenous building methods combined with cutting edge technology and innovative construction techniques. The comfortable guest rooms feature earthen walls (mud-brick, cob, and hydraform), renewable energy sources (solar panels), rainwater harvesting, composting toilets, and more.
